This prism has two plane faces slightly inclined to each other by ‘α’, the wedge apex angle. They are typically used in laser systems to steer the beam in any direction within a narrow cone. Used in tandem with another they serve as an anamorphic pair to correct the elliptical polarized output from a diode laser to circular.
